Alabama's elusive rapper Pink Siifu and Brussel's beat-maker Shungu have teamed up on new single 'Cement', to add to Mexican Summer's Looking Glass series which showcases artists both close to the label's core, and slightly further afield. Owing to Shungu's characteristically sleazy production, 'Cement''s retro sound track of jazzy guitar licks and choral vocals is effortless cool. Pink Siifu's rap is interpolated, however, with its laid-back charm and telephone filter, it feels at right home among the retro surroundings, accentuating the lo-fi nature of the song. 'Cement' shows a fantastically suited alliance between Pink Siifu and Shungu, and it's a wonderful addition to the diverse Looking Glass Series. -Ellie Rose-Davies
